Below i'm going to show you my favourite glitter polishes and maybe chuck in a few cheeky instagram pictures of some of the polishes on my nails!
1. Urban Outfitters Electra - £6
This nail polish has a clear base with a mix of red, green, pink, gold and blue circular dots. You can either wear this polish alone however you would need a few coats for a good coverage or wear it on top of another polish. In the picture below I am wearing it on top of Essie's 'Mint Candy Apple', which I think looks absolutely gorgeous! This is one of the main glitter's I reach for when painting my nails for a night out if my outfit is quite basic!
2. American Apparel Meteor Shower - £9
Out of all of the glitters featured in this post, this one is definitely my favourite. It has a clear base and then different sized gold flecks, I usually wear this polish on top of a pastel colour as I think it gives a great contrast between the two polishes. I wear a lot of gold jewellery so this looks perfect with that and this polish also isn't too 'in your face' or OTT, so it can be worn for work which is ideal. Sadly i've nearly run out of this polish which means I'll be running to American Apparel soon to purchase another, as quite frankly I don't think I can live without it!
3. Models Own Hedkandi Ibiza Mix - £5
This colours in this polish are different to any glitter polishes I have seen. This polish is a mix of gold, baby pink, light blue, dark blue and burnt orange. This polish is so versatile, you can try it out with a range of different base colours from pastels to darks to create an array of different effects. This polish also looks really effective when just used on an accent nail for that added extra sparkle!
4. Topshop 3 D - £6
I only purchased this polish last week but it has been on my nails ever since I purchased it. The base colour of this polish is a really light blue colour however it is still sheer, with the tiniest glitter pieces which are all different shades of blue. No base coat is needed for this polish and when on your nails it gives a 3D effect, hense why Topshop have named the polish '3 D'! The only downside of this polish is that the staying power isn't great as it chips very easily!
5. American Apparel Constellation - £9
I picked up this polish for free from American Apparel during October when they had an email promotion of recieving a free nail polish instore if you were signed up to the newsletter. This was much to my delight as I already had an eye on this polish so being able to pick it up for free was an added bonus. This polish has a sheer base and then long silver strands which looks great, I especially like this glitter layered over a navy polish!
6. Topshop Ashes & Fire - £6
This polish is made up of the tiniest specks of gold, red and green.. very festive! Like the other Topshop polish I mentioned above, you do not need a coloured base coat for this polish as it is buildable to cover the full nail in just two coats! I definitely recommend this polish for the party season.
Hope you enjoyed the run-down of my favourite glitter polishes, if you have any recommendations of other glitters for me to try, please leave suggestions in the comments! Speak to you all soon,
